How… can you acknowledge yourself, today?

Weekly Question: How can you acknowledge yourself…?

Weekly Intention: Honor

Acknowledge yourself, today…

Notes/Thoughts

“Do your thing and don’t care if they like it.”
– Tiny Fey

Today’s goal is to acknowledge yourself.

acknowledge
/akˈnälij/
verb

1. Celebrate the quality of something (you!)

Ex: Reward yourself for something specific…with something specific!

It might be difficult. Like in this case…

Ex: You get fired.

How… can you acknowledge yourself – for getting fired?

  • First, acknowledge yourself for something you did, like
“I did a great project, last year.”
  • Then, reward yourself for the project and repeat!
  • Keep rewarding yourself!

Ex: “I did a great project, last year, so I’m gonna take myself to dinner at
Le Bernardin.”

Ex: “I did a great project, last year, so I’m gonna buy myself a bag.”

Ex: “I did a great project, last year, so I’m gonna watch this interesting movie…fully!”

The reward can be small or large, but it should be specific, for this exercise.

Essentially, the goal is to reward yourself ~ for something specific… with something specific and repeat, until you feel acknowledged.

Have fun with this exercise!

Exercise II:

Think of the worst thing anybody’s ever said about you and turn it into a song.

Another idea is say thank you to yourself or someone else, because let’s face it, F*u is more common, than thank you, in today’s world. So, say thank you, today and let’s change the world, together!

About The Yoga Book

The Yoga Book is a personal yoga diary! It is a book for your thoughts and experiences, after a yoga class. Often creative ideas, solutions to problems and powerful insights are revealed to you – write them down! Do you have a creative idea? Write it down! Do you have a favorite posture? Sketch it! Do you have a favorite class or instructor? Take notes! Use it to determine your favorite style of yoga or enhance your practice. The Yoga Book is also perfect for teacher trainings and yoga workshops! Every page has an inspirational quote, space for the date, style of yoga, and instructor’s name. It also has a glossary of classic yogas. Enjoy!

“The idea for The Yoga Book came to me in a yoga class! I saw it clearly in my mind and I needed somewhere to write it down. Also, I had recently met with an Indian medical doctor, who had said “Different styles of yoga effect people differently, so it is important to know which ‘style of yoga’ is right for you.” So, I decided to create a book, where people could journal about their experiences in a yoga class, write about the different postures – how they felt, get inspired, and write about their insights… Sometimes I would come to class with a problem, any problem, and leave with a solution! And when I did, I’d write it down somewhere, so I decided to create The Yoga Book.”
