Weekly Question:  How can you evolve in a relationship, today?

Weekly Intention: Evolve

Daily Affirmation: I evolve…

Notes/Thoughts

“In the world through which I travel, I am endlessly creating myself.”
– Frantz Fanon

This week’s question is “How… can you evolve in a relationship, today?”

So, let’s start by defining ‘evolve..’

evolve
/ēˈvälv/
verb

1. Develop gradually, over time and with practice.

Ex: She laughed at certain behavior, she understood it. She evolved…

Let’s continue with defining ‘relationship…’

relationship
/rəˈlāSH(ə)nˌSHip/
noun

1.  The way two people (or things) are connected.

Ex: Boyfriend – Girlfriend, Spouse – Spouse, Sister – Brother, Sister – Sister, Brother – Brother, Mother – Child, Father – Child, Friend – Friend, Person – Money, Person – Work…

How… can you evolve in a relationship, today?

  • Be yourself, speak your truth…
    Notice if you’re hesitant…
    If you’re hesitant, you’re attached.
    Let go!
  • Learn… what ‘works’ and what doesn’t ‘work’ in your relationship.
    And make changes, accordingly…
  • Be 100% committed to it! It’s easier than being 99% committed… 🙂
    Think about it…
  • Explain the thing that upsets you, and why it upsets you…to the best of your ability.  Ask permission, first. For instance, “Is it o.k. if I talk to you about something that bothers me?” And if the person isn’t ready to hear it, then let it go… and accept it, for now. But reiterate that you’d like to talk about it, soon.
  • Know… the relationship could end at any moment and accept it.
  • Breathe…
  • Follow your heart…
  • Be true to yourself…

Ask yourself, “How can I ‘evolve in a relationship,’ today?”
Then live from the question and see what unfolds…

Weekly Notes

  • Make (in most cases ‘private’) assessments and trust your judgement…then ask yourself if the relationship is worth it, or if it’s important to you.
  • Listen with an open heart…

About The Yoga Book

The Yoga Book

The Yoga Book is a personal yoga diary! It is a book for your thoughts and experiences, after a yoga class. Do you have a favorite posture? Sketch it! Do you have a favorite class or instructor? Take notes! Do you have a creative idea? Write it down! Use it to determine your favorite style of yoga or enhance your practice. The Yoga Book is also perfect for teacher trainings and yoga workshops! Every page has an inspirational quote, space for the date, style of yoga, and instructor’s name. It also has a glossary of classic yogas. Enjoy!

“The idea for The Yoga Book came to me in a yoga class! I saw it clearly in my mind and I needed somewhere to write it down. Also, I had recently met with an Indian medical doctor, who had said “Different styles of yoga effect people differently, so it is important to know which ‘style of yoga’ is right for you.” So, I decided to create a book, where people could journal about their experiences in a yoga class, write about the different postures – how they felt, get inspired, and write about their insights… Sometimes I would come to class with a problem, any problem, and leave with a solution! And when I did, I’d write it down somewhere, so I decided to create The Yoga Book.”
