Weekly Question: “How can you ‘honor your commitments,’ today?”

Weekly Intention: Integrity

Notes/Thoughts

“Integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is watching.”
C.S. Lewis

How… can you ‘honor your commitments,’ today?

  • Keep your word…
*Keep your word, or take it very seriously.
*It’s the only thing you can control.
*It can be fun and exciting, too!
  • Respect your promises…
  • Hold your commitments in high regard. 🙂
  • Give up your ‘feelings’ – about your promises…
  • Give up your ‘thoughts’ – about your promises…
*Give up your thoughts about your promises, if you’ve already
considered everything and made a clear choice.
  • Bulldoze your way through circumstances…
  • Consider the easiest way to honor your commitment…
  • Breathe deeply…
  • Look at your past commitments and make amends, if possible.
  • Listen to other people’s commitments and take them seriously.
  • Make a list of your commitments and/or declare them publicly.
  • Know… ‘keeping your word’ is gonna be a roller coaster.
  • Enjoy!

Ask yourself, “How can I ‘honor my commitments,’ today?”
Then, live from the question and see what unfolds…

Weekly Notes

Please make sure you’re comfortable and relaxed, before you make a promise.

You can relax, first, by putting on some good music, eating some good food, and breathing deeply, for instance…whatever you like to do… 🙂

Also, you should notice if something seems to be on your mind. If so, handle it, in some way.

If you need to plan, or prepare for your promises, then be sure to give yourself plenty of time and space; i.e. give yourself whatever you need, first. 🙂

Yearly Notes

The question is “How can you ‘honor your commitments,’ today?”

So, let’s start with defining ‘honor…’ and ‘commitments…’

honor
/ˈänər/
verb

1. Regard (your promises) with great respect.

Ex: She honored her commitments by taking them very seriously.

commitments
/kəˈmitmənts/
noun

1. Specific promises you make to yourself and other people.

Make promises to yourself and others – and take them seriously… 🙂

About The Yoga Book

The Yoga Book

The Yoga Book is a personal yoga diary! It is a book for your thoughts and experiences, after a yoga class. Do you have a favorite posture? Sketch it! Do you have a favorite class or instructor? Take notes! Do you have a creative idea? Write it down! Use it to determine your favorite style of yoga or enhance your practice. The Yoga Book is also perfect for teacher trainings and yoga workshops! Every page has an inspirational quote, space for the date, style of yoga, and instructor’s name. It also has a glossary of classic yogas. Enjoy!

“The idea for The Yoga Book came to me in a yoga class! I saw it clearly in my mind and I needed somewhere to write it down. Also, I had recently met with an Indian medical doctor, who had said “Different styles of yoga effect people differently, so it is important to know which ‘style of yoga’ is right for you.” So, I decided to create a book, where people could journal about their experiences in a yoga class, write about the different postures – how they felt, get inspired, and write about their insights… Sometimes I would come to class with a problem, any problem, and leave with a solution! And when I did, I’d write it down somewhere, so I decided to create The Yoga Book.”
